The Monumental Itinerant Museum Mexico in Your Senses is a captivating photography and video exhibition by artist Willy Sousa. It opened on March 3, 2010, in Mexico City's Zócalo, inaugurated by then-President Felipe Calderón Hinojosa. The exhibition drew an astonishing 120,000 visitors daily, welcoming a total of 7.3 million people in just 52 days.

This remarkable exhibition also achieved significant success during Argentina's Bicentennial celebrations. Its global tour included major cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York in the U.S., as well as Toronto and Montreal in Canada. Its reach extended to Asia, notably featured at the Shanghai World Expo 2010. Within the Mexican Pavilion, it attracted approximately 30,000 daily visitors from across five continents.

At the COP16 Climate Change Summit, held in Cancún, Mexico, in 2010, the Mexico in Your Senses video (the exhibition's centerpiece) was screened for an distinguished audience. Presidents, heads of state, international representatives, prime ministers, diplomats, governors, cabinet members, and various NGO publicly praised the video, expressing profound emotion.

The Mexico in Your Senses video emerged as the top winner of the CIFFT International Festival Circuit. What's more, it garnered an impressive 22 international awards at leading festivals worldwide, including Gold at the Tour Film Brazil in Rio de Janeiro, and a Finalist distinction at the CIFFT in Vienna for Best Original Music.

The Music

The soundtrack of Mexico in Your Senses was composed and arranged by Mexican artist Enrique Romo and performed by the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico.

The original symphonic version of the theme was further enhanced with a 30-member choir, a children's choir, a percussion ensemble, and three soloists (soprano, mezzo-soprano, and child's voice) to create its definitive, widely celebrated rendition.

While the first version of the score was completed in August 2009, the final score wasn't presented until February 2010 to Maestro Carlos Miguel Prieto, then General Director of the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico. He enthusiastically approved the recording.

Due to scheduling and logistical considerations, Maestro Jesús Medina, former director of the UNAM Philharmonic Orchestra, was invited to conduct the piece. His expertise led to a masterful and flawless performance by the National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico.

The recording took place on February 19, 2010, at the Blas Galindo Auditorium of the National Center for the Arts in Mexico City.
